*** THANK YOU FOR CONSIDERING A MOUNTAIN PRIDE CAVY ***
We are a small, home-based caviary in Northeast Pennsylvania specializing in quality Peruvian and Silkie cavies.
Our cavies are beloved family members. Their health and happiness are our top priority. We go to great lengths to continuously improve upon and learn new husbandry techniques.
Our cavies are healthy and fed a varied diet of pellets, timothy hay, orchard grass, alfalfa hay and many different vegetables like kale, green peppers, cilanrto, spinach, romaine, etc. They are given "outdoor time" as much as the weather allows, when they are allowed to eat as much grass as they can and lounge in the sunshine for awhile.
They are well-socialized by myself, my children and my German Shepherd.
We are always working towards improving our stock and attend as many shows as possible throughout the year (I also have four young humans to care for so we aren't able to make them all).
Our breeding stock are kept in community coat, usually in small groups between breedings, because I have found that to be the best method of maintaining cavy happiness.
We offer both show quality, breeding quality and pet quality for sale throughout the year, so if you would like a great companion...."give us a call." I am rather new to the cavy fancy, but I am always happy to "talk cavy" and answer any questions that I can.
